I wanna be Woody Guthrie in the worst way
Travelling the country, hopping on the trains
But people don’t live like that no more
Now it’s only the stuff of legend, of that I’m sure

He would ride the day long then leave his train car
then come into a new town, only with his guitar
and play for the people there
people loved him almost everywhere

B: I feel the pull to travel and play throughout the land. There’s so much land to see.
But I keep sitting here and when I hear a train, it just tortures me

Here I sit, waiting out my time
wondering if I’ll ever get any further down the line

I wanna be a folk singer and play throughout the land
